SCL is run by Gareth Ready, who is a licensed draftsman and designer, and the team comprises a variety of professionals experienced in all aspects of construction, design, planning, management and delivery.

Signature Construction Limited (SCL) was founded in Auckland with a simple but powerful aim: to deliver better housing outcomes for growing communities across Aotearoa. Established as part of the wider Signature group, SCL was created to respond to the increasing demand for thoughtfully planned, low- to medium-density developments that balance quality, liveability, and scale.
From early standalone homes to subdivisions of over 100 lots, including terraced housing and three-storey-plus apartment buildings, SCL has steadily grown its capability and reach. In the 80’s we grew rapidly and soon established a robust foothold in the New Zealand market. However, in 1987, the economic landscape took a turn for the worse, and we needed to diversify our offerings to include conventional timber-framed homes and solid-wood homes.

Gavin Hunt, who was involved in Signature Homes’ initial launch in 1983, became our private owner. In 1995, we expanded our operations to construct homes, commercial buildings and resorts throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
